Work underway . . .

Work on the restoration of the Anstice started on the 25th March for 27 weeks with a completion date of 27th September 2019. The contractor is Pave Aways Ltd from Oswestry. The site will operate from Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 5.30pm.

The plan below shows the contractor’s site arrangements during the project. All the temporary buildings are located at the rear of the Anstice on the car park. They are screened off by fencing for safety purposes.  Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times via the existing pathways at the side of the Anstice.

Wrekin Housing Trust have kindly agreed to free up some of their parking bays to allow traffic to circulate around the car park.  It would be appreciated that when you are driving or walking through and around the car park that you follow and obey any construction signage for your safety and for the safety of the workers. PLEASE ONLY PARK IN LINED BAYS AS VEHICLES HAVE BLOCKED DELIVERIES TO THE SITE AND LOCAL SHOPS.

The first work being carried out in the Anstice is the removal of all asbestos, as far as reasonably practicable, that has been identified.  This is being carried out by specialist sub-contractor; City Environmental Services (UK) Ltd. This is scheduled to take 3-4 weeks.

All the asbestos that is removed is safely stored in a special skip and then will be disposed of at a special licensed tip.  This needs to be completed before any other renovation work can start.

We thank you for your patience and cooperation during these essential works to bring this building back into full use and accessible to the whole community. We regret there will inevitably be some disruption to vehicles using the car park during the building works and residents may wish to consider using alternative free car parking in the local area.

Our contractor will try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. However, if there is a problem, please contact Pave Aways site manager, Tony Martin on 07738800344 or you can email tony.martin@paveaways.co.uk.
