Work on the restoration of the Anstice started on the 25th March for 27 weeks with an anticipated completion of mid December 2019. The contractor is Pave Aways Ltd from Oswestry. The site will operate from Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 5.30pm.
The downstairs of the Anstice is now taking shape with the most of the demolition work being completed. New steelwork has been installed and some old ceilings boarded up. Some of the old floors in the cellar were uneven and have had to be levelled to provide safe access. Exposed arches have been kept and incorporated into the library area. All the walls that were in poor condition or recently constructed are being rendered ready for painting.
The new rear extension is completed and the curtain walling has been installed. Installation of the lift and stairwell is underway.
A local company RS Salop are restoring the front windows. The downstairs windows have all been repaired and repainted. With the erection of scaffolding, they have now moved onto the installation of new windows in the ballroom. This involves a design that is more in keeping with the building, including reopening the top arches.
The ballroom is being repainted and a new bar is being installed.
Refurbishment of the flat is now complete.
New shop fronts are being installed at the rear of the property.
Our contractor will try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. However, if there is a problem, please contact Pave Aways site manager, Tony Martin on 07738800344 or you can email email@example.com.
