Work on the restoration of the Anstice started on the 25th March for 27 weeks with an anticipated completion of mid November 2019. The contractor is Pave Aways Ltd from Oswestry. The site will operate from Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 5.30pm.
The clearance of the known asbestos has been successfully completed by CES. This does not mean that we are necesarily totoally clear of asbestos as more might be uncovered as the major strip out continues.
Stripping out of the downstairs area has revealed some lovely painted brickwork as well as unexpected windows and archways that had been blocked and hidden from view. Every effort will be made to retain these features as part of the final scheme. Work is now underway on creating the downstairs layout by taking out sections of wall and the suspended ceilings. You can see how the new openings will allow much more light into the building and creating lovely airy open spaces for the cafe and library.

Work has also started on the construction of the new lift and stairwell at the rear of the building. This will provide much needed access to the ballroom as well as improving the rear view of the building.
A selection of artists impressions can be viewed to the right showing what the interior could look like.
We thank you for your patience and cooperation during these essential works to bring this building back into full use and accessible to the whole community. We regret there will inevitably be some disruption to vehicles using the car park during the building works and residents may wish to consider using alternative free car parking in the local area.
Our contractor will try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. However, if there is a problem, please contact Pave Aways site manager, Tony Martin on 07738800344 or you can email email@example.com.
If you have any questions or comments about the scheme, please feel free to contact us.
