Code of Recommended Practice for Local Authorities

The Local Government Transparency Code 2015 was published by the Department for Communities and Government in February 2015.  The Code sets out key principles for local authorities in creating greater transparency through the publication of public sector data – in particular how public money is being used, in order to allow local people to hold local authorities to account over how their council tax is spent and the decisions that are taken on their behalf.
