A partnership between Madeley Town Council and Stirchley & Brookside Parish Council, the South Telford Rights of Way Partnership employs a Project Officer, Alec Connah. Alec’s job is to raise awareness, promote usage and monitor the condition of the Rights of Way in the two partner parishes. He leads curriculum linked guided walks for local primary schools and general walks for community groups and members of the public.

STROWP has also been instrumental in promoting the importance of local wildlife sites and is working toward the declaration of several pit mounds as ‘Local Nature Reserves’.
Madeley Pitmounds LNR, a 42ha site, was declared in February 2016; the process for declaration of Rough Park LNR will start in late 2016. Madbrook Pools and Stirchley Dingle LNR was declared in December 2014. In 2016, STROWP has engaged with Hollinswood & Randlay PC to support the LNR process for Randlay Valley.
