Improvements on Woodside . . .
Latest achievements include . . .
Another disused and untidy overgrown car parking bay brought back to use buy the idverde community action team providing residents with a clean space to park once again.
A more inviting space to park your car now the community action team have swept and scraped off the surface moss and weeds and then finished the job off with some much-needed pruning to the overhanging vegetation, a job well done I think you would agree
Say hi to Andy & Matt from idverde who have been working hard on Woodside over the past couple of weeks in tackling some of the untidy areas of the estate that are not part of the routine maintenance contract. They have been busy clearing weeds and detritus from car parking bays, clearing away all rubbish from narrow passages whether it be household waste or overgrown vegetation. Other works include the clearing of pathways of all vegetation encroachment and where needed remove soil build up from around street furniture, as well as any repairs to bollards or trip rails. The guys will be on Woodside for a month so if you see them please stop and say hello to them.
Wow what a difference, one of the first tasks by the idverde action team was to clear this parking bay in Wealdstone of all rubbish, bringing this space back into use as it was originally intended.
Rough Park Bridleway…. More Improvements . . .
The second phase of the recent footpath improvement’s inside Rough Park local nature reserve has now been completed in full. These illustrations are the far end of the same pathway that was recently showcased, finishing the whole length of this section of Bridleway. These improvements are a continued joint effort by Madeley Town Council and the Rights of Way team at Telford & Wrekin Council working in partnership to deliver improved and safer access through the reserve.
Madeley in Bloom . . .
Some of the examples of the current floral display in Madeley high street this year helping to brighten up our local centre. Many thanks to all our high street neighbours who again this year came on board and supported us in delivering our Madeley in bloom scheme, it certainly adds some much needed cheer to the High Street and beyond.
New pole planters were recently installed along the footpath on Russell Road Village Green in Madeley and looked lovely in the sunshine.
Routes Around the Parish . . .
In recent weeks a number of our local walking/cycling routes across the parish received some new directional posts or finger posts as sometimes known.
These new additions form part of the ongoing commitment by Madeley Town Council to improve the local rights of way network across the parish which will aid visitors to the area in navigating there way around and helping them to find the local areas of interest such as the local shopping centre or the nearby housing estates and historical attractions.
Special thanks go to all at the Skills & Enterprise Hub located at the Bridges Business Park at Horsehay who did a fantastic job in making these on behalf of the Town Council, also thanks to Midland Playscape (local contractor) who installed all of the new posts in the chosen locations identified by the Environment Officer here at the Town Council.
