Madeley Town Council organises a number of public events each year and supports local groups to put on others for the community.
Information regarding 2018 events:
Madeley Christmas Lights Event
The Town Council’s annual festive switch-on of the Christmas Lights will be on Saturday 1st December from 2-7pm in Madeley Centre.
There will be a festive Christmas Market, alongside Tesco and in Park Avenue, with lots of goodies on offer from 2-7pm. Hot food, refreshments, children’s fairground rides, FREE children’s craft activities and wonderful street entertainers; The Giant Candy Cane Elves and The Christmas Juggling Jester.
There are a few stall spaces left if anyone is interested, please contact Julie: email@example.com .
Inside the Anstice you can visit Santa’s Grotto from 2pm (doors close at 5.30pm). There will be an afternoon of festive entertainment in the ballroom upstairs (sorry, but there is no lift available until after the refurbishment) – local children will be singing and dancing and we have professionals; Tom Wenlock and the Telford Community Steel Band too.
This will be followed by Disco Daddy a ‘full-on’ free children’s disco – two sessions; 4pm & 5pm (finishing at 6pm).
Refreshments will be available in the Anstice from 2-6pm.
Santa will be leading the parade in his sleigh from the bottom of Madeley High Street at 6.15pm, so why not bring a torch and join in. He will make his way up the High Street to Madeley Centre where he will help the Mayor and the lucky winners of the children’s draw to switch on the Christmas Lights at 6.30pm.
We would like to give special thanks to; The Ironbridge and Severn Gorge Lions who give their continued support with Santa’s Grotto and the Sleigh Parade, Ironbridge Gorge Museums for providing ticket prizes for our children’s helper winners, Tesco Madeley for their assistance with the market space and to Anstice Community Trust for helping with the activities and providing refreshments in the Anstice.
