Planning applications are the responsibility of Telford and Wrekin Council, and they decide if an application is approved or not. Telford & Wrekin Plans Board meets every 3 to 4 weeks. If you wish to find out details of the meetings or specific applications, visit Telford & Wrekin Council website, by clicking HERE. It is useful to have the application number to hand, or search by address.
Not all applications come before Telford & Wrekin’s Plans Board some of the smaller household applications are decided by the Planning Officers.
Telford & Wrekin Council is obliged to inform Madeley Town Council of applications that fall within the parish boundary and to consider any comments that the Parish makes. Madeley Town Council would not necessarily be concerned about smaller applications, unless they impacted on neighbours or would be out of keeping with the area. We are particularly interested in the larger developments, such as the recent redevelopment of Madeley Centre and developments in sensitive areas like the World Heritage Site. The Borough Council is under no obligation to act on our advice, but we are in a position to influence on behalf of the parish and the people who live here; we do our best to ensure that local concerns are taken into account before a decision is made.
